Creating Equipment in PEAK

There are two ways to create equipment in PEAK.
1. Creating one Equipment at a time:

In PEAK → BACERs → Create New Equipment.

Assign the equipment Name, Levels/Zones and Equipment type + any relevant Parent Equipment/Primary Device.

2. Bulk equipment Creation:

In PEAK → BACERs → Commission Equipment

This method allows you to copy/paste equipment made in an external Google/Excel Sheet directly into PEAK.

Common Equipment

Common equipment is used when a single point needs to be shared across two or more equipment of the same type. For example a “Common Chilled Water Leaving Temperature” metadata point as seen below:

In this example, a “COMMON” Chiller equipment should be created which is shared between the chillers located in this Plantroom.

Creating Common Equipment

In Peak → BACERs → Create Equipment

Create a new equipment and add the -COMMON Suffix, Enable the “Shared” slider, and add Related equipment (The equipment which will share the common point(s)):

We are then able to assign the points to the new “Chiller-Tower-COMMON” equipment and they will be shared across all related equipment.

Uses for COMMON Equipment

Some other points which are often assigned to COMMON equipment are:

  • Master Cooling Call

  • Master Heating Call

  • Chiller Outside Air Humidity

  • Chiller Outside Air Temperature

  • Chilled Water Common Entering Temperature

  • Chilled Water Common Leaving Temperature

  • Chilled Water Leaving Temperature Setpoint

  • Chilled Water System Differential Pressure (CHWP)

  • Cooling Tower Common Leaving Water Temperature

  • Cooling Tower Common Leaving Water Temperature Setpoint

  • Cooling Tower Common Entering Water Temperature

  • Hot Water Boiler Outside Air Temperature

  • Hot Water Common Entering Temperature

  • Hot Water Common Leaving Temperature

  • Hot Water Leaving Temperature Setpoint

  • Return air duct points when a return air duct serves multiple AHUs/PACs
