Exceptions for names differing from BAS names

Typically it is suggested to use the same names as the BMS to avoid confusion with the site team. There are exceptions for this, as outlined below.

Common Equipment

Prefix “Common “ to each equipment. One will typically be required for each metadata type for the thermal plant. They will also typically be used per floor to cover common points across the AHU or VAV such as after hours requests

e.g.

  • Common CHWS

  • Common CHWP

  • Common SCHWS

  • Common SCHWP

  • Common HHWS

  • Common HHWP

  • Common SHHWS

  • Common SHHWP

  • Common AHU

  • Common VAV

  • Common Level 01 AHU

  • Common Level 01 VAV

VSDs

  • Concatenate "-VSD" at the end for the parent equipment

  • Commission VSD points on VSD. Eg we have a Supply Air Fan Frequency meta on AHU, commission it on VSD as operating frequency if its coming from VSD.

e.g.

CDWP-1-VSD
CT-2-VSD
HHWP-1-VSD

HLI (Primarily Chillers)

  • Concatenate "-HLI" at the end for the parent equipment

  • Create HLI as a zone and assign HLI as a zone to all favourites for HLI equipment (instead of plantroom). Easier to identify HLI point specially when HLI equipment is shared with parent equipment.

  • Commission all HLI point on chiller on the HLI equipment. No need to create another equipment called CH-1-VSD to commission frequency, power etc.

e.g.
CH-1-HLI

Meters

  • Concatenate "XX-" at the start of the parent equipment

"PSM-" - Power Sub Meter e.g. PSM-Lift-1
"GM-" - Gas Sub Meter
"WM-" - Water Sub Meter
"TEM-" - Thermal Energy Meter
