Getting started
Bring PEAK into the AI assistant you already use. Ask questions about your portfolio, investigate faults, follow up on actions and run repeatable workflows in plain English.
This guide covers Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Demo of PEAK MCP
PEAK AI skills
Skills give your AI agents repeatable PEAK workflows. Download each skill from its repository using Code > Download ZIP.
Skill and repository | Example prompt | What it does |
| Visualises equipment health, thermal comfort, equipment run hours or assignee performance. | |
| Groups faults into maintenance jobs and creates the tickets you approve. | |
| Generates a quarterly building performance report for a site. |
Run a workflow
After connecting PEAK and installing the skills, start a conversation and enter a prompt such as:
/health-check for [site name]
Follow the prompts to choose the type of visualisation you want to generate and analyse. Continue asking follow-up questions in the same conversation.
Who can use it
You need an active PEAK account with access to the sites you want to query. Your existing PEAK permissions apply.
Claude connects to PEAK through Connectors, ChatGPT through Plugins, and Copilot Studio through an agent’s Tools. Access to these features and skills depends on your plan and organisation settings. An administrator or owner may need to enable them.
Platform | PEAK AI connection | Skill installation |
Claude | Add PEAK custom MCP server via Claude Connectors. | Upload skills to your account, or use skills provided by your organisation. |
ChatGPT | Add PEAK custom MCP server via ChatGPT Plugins. | Upload skills to your account and run them in Work, subject to workspace permissions. |
Microsoft 365 Copilot | Add PEAK custom MCP server via Copilot Agent Tools in Copilot Studio. | Upload skills to the Copilot Agent’s Skills before publishing. |
MCP connection URL
Use this URL when adding the PEAK Connector, Plugin or MCP tool:
Name | MCP connection URL |
PEAK |
Setup in Claude
PEAK Connector enabled in Claude’s Connectors menu.
For Team or Enterprise accounts, an organisation owner adds the PEAK Connector under Organisation settings > Connectors using the MCP connection URL. Members can then find PEAK under Customize > Connectors and connect using their own PEAK login.
Add the PEAK Connector
For an individual account:
Open Claude, then Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector.
Enter PEAK as the name and paste the MCP connection URL.
Follow the prompts to sign in to PEAK and finish adding the Connector.
Enable the PEAK Connector in your chat.
Upload skills
Go to Customize > Skills > Create skill > Upload a skill.
Upload each ZIP and enable the skill.
Individuals can upload skills when organisation policy allows; owners can also provide skills centrally. See Claude’s skill guide.
Start a chat with the PEAK Connector enabled and enter prompt:
/health-check for [site name]
Setup in ChatGPT
Select Work, then add the PEAK Plugin and the skill to your prompt.
Use ChatGPT on the web and select Work to run PEAK skills. See OpenAI’s guide to ChatGPT Work.
For Business and Enterprise accounts, a workspace admin or owner creates and publishes the PEAK Plugin for the workspace. Others in the organisation can then install the Plugin and connect using their own PEAK login.
Add the PEAK Plugin
Open Plugins > Add > Add custom MCP server.
Enter PEAK as the name, paste the MCP connection URL, and select OAuth authentication.
Follow the prompts and select Create as a plugin.
Review the available tools and install the PEAK Plugin. For a shared workspace, the admin or owner publishes it for the intended users.
Open Work, type
@, select the PEAK Plugin, and sign in to PEAK when prompted.
See OpenAI’s MCP connection guide for current availability and workspace requirements.
Upload skills
Go to Plugins > Skills > Add (or Create) > Upload from your computer.
Upload each ZIP, complete any review prompts, and install it if prompted.
Individuals can upload skills when workspace permissions allow. See Skills in ChatGPT.
Run a skill in Work
Start a new task and select Work at the top of ChatGPT.
Type
@to select the PEAK Plugin and the installed skill you want to use.Enter
/health-check for [site name]and follow the prompts.
Setup in Microsoft 365 Copilot
Open the published PEAK Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot and enter your request.
Before you start, ask your Microsoft administrator to confirm Copilot Studio access, publishing permissions and credits for your organisation’s Power Platform environment where you will create the PEAK Agent. See Microsoft administrator setup and credits below.
1. Create an agent
Open Copilot Studio and select the environment your administrator enabled. Select Agents > New agent > Agent — GitHub Copilot, name it PEAK, and save. See Microsoft’s agent creation guide.
Choose Agent — GitHub Copilot to use uploaded skills.
This is an agent type within Copilot Studio. Building, testing and running it consumes Copilot Credits, even with a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. See Microsoft’s billing guidance.
2. Connect PEAK MCP
In Build > Tools, choose Add > Model Context Protocol (MCP) and enter:
Field | Value |
Name | PEAK MCP |
Server URL | |
Authentication | OAuth 2.0 |
Type, if shown | Dynamic discovery |
This uses the same MCP connection URL. Follow the prompts to create a connection and sign in to PEAK. Review the tools and save.
3. Upload skills
In your agent, go to Build > Skills > Upload a skill.
Upload each complete ZIP, check that health-check, bulk-triage and client-report appear under Skills, and save.
These skills belong to the agent. People using the published agent do not need to upload them separately. See Microsoft’s skill upload guide.
4. Add agent instructions
Paste the following into Instructions, then save:
You are PEAK, a building performance assistant. Use PEAK MCP and follow the installed skills and their supporting resources.
When users ask for help or type /skills, show:
- /health-check for [site name] — visualise site health, comfort, run hours or assignee performance.
- /bulk-triage for [site name] — group faults into maintenance jobs and create approved tickets.
- /client-report for [site name] — generate a quarterly building performance report.
Follow each skill’s activation rules and continue the active workflow for follow-up questions. Clarify scope when needed.
Get approval before creating tickets or linking alerts. Resolve assignees before creating tickets. Keep replies concise, state data gaps and include available PEAK links.
5. Test, publish and share
In Preview, enter
/health-check for [site name]and follow the prompts.Select Publish, configure the Microsoft 365 Copilot channel and follow the prompts to publish. See Microsoft’s publishing guide.
Use Share to grant access to the intended users or groups. Follow Microsoft’s sharing guide; your administrator can manage organisation catalogue distribution using Microsoft’s approval guide.
In Microsoft 365 Copilot, start a new chat and select your PEAK Agent. You can find it by typing
@PEAK.
Each user connects using their own PEAK login. If prompted, select Open connection manager, sign in, then return to the chat and select Retry.
Republish after changing the agent’s tools, skills or instructions.
Microsoft administrator setup and credits
For your Microsoft administrator. Complete these checks before creating or testing the PEAK Agent.
Confirm access and environment. Ensure the person building PEAK has Copilot Studio access and permission to create and publish agents in the selected environment. See Microsoft’s author access guidance.
Arrange billing. Use existing prepaid capacity or Microsoft’s credit purchase options. Pay-as-you-go billing requires an active Azure subscription and appropriate Azure permissions. Follow Microsoft’s pay-as-you-go setup guide, select Copilot Studio as the product/meter, and add the Power Platform environment where you will create the PEAK Agent to the billing plan.
Enable billing for the agent’s environment. In the Power Platform admin center, open Licensing > Copilot Studio > Manage Copilot Credits and select the same Power Platform environment you use in Copilot Studio to create the PEAK Agent. Allocate prepaid credits, or under Capacity overages, enable Bill to my pay-as-you-go billing plan, select the plan and save. Follow Microsoft’s capacity guide. Configure this environment even if Microsoft 365 spending policies are already set.
No Skills option? Confirm you created Agent — GitHub Copilot. Upload the complete skill ZIPs under Build > Skills. See Microsoft’s skill upload guide.
After billing changes, start a new Preview chat and try /health-check for [site name]. If EnforcementUsageCredits persists, ask your administrator to check available environment capacity, the linked billing plan and agent usage limits.
Troubleshooting
Authentication errors: reconnect the PEAK Connector in Claude or the PEAK Plugin in ChatGPT. In Microsoft 365 Copilot, use Open connection manager, sign in and select Retry.
Missing sites: check the permissions on your PEAK account.
Missing connection or upload options: ask your organisation’s administrator or owner to check feature access and permissions.
Skills not running: check they are installed and enabled. In Claude, check code execution is enabled. In ChatGPT, switch to Work and select the installed skill. In Copilot Studio, use the GitHub Copilot agent type and republish changes.
Copilot access or credit issues: ask your Microsoft administrator to check access, sharing and capacity for the environment hosting the agent. For EnforcementUsageCredits, check available credits, the linked billing plan and any usage limits.
Security and data access
PEAK uses OAuth 2.0 and your existing account permissions. Connecting an AI assistant does not grant additional PEAK access. Your AI provider’s privacy and data retention policies also apply.
