Testing the BACER Configuration
Internet Access
With a laptop, using the same IP settings as the BACER, connect into the assigned installation location and test to see if the internet connection is live. e.g. 10.137.30.6, subnet 255.255.255.0 (How to set a static IP in Windows)
Specifically test if https://vpn.cimenviro.com is reachable and should show the below screen:
If this loads, the BACER should be able to connect to the CIM VPN.
BACnet Visibility
Once connected and internet access is confirmed, next BACnet visibility should be tested. This is done via a BACnet scanner, such as YABE. Instructions for YABE are below
Download and install YABE: https://sourceforge.net/projects/yetanotherbacnetexplorer/
Connect your laptop in place of the BACER and run a scan on YABE
Click green + in the top left
Under BACnet/IP over UDP, select your IP from local endpoint dropdown list (10.137.30.6) and click add
Devices should appear automatically.
If devices appear, this indicates that our BACER will see those devices. If not, then further troubleshooting required
Physical Installation
Connect the ethernet on both ends
Connect power to BACER. BACER should turn on automatically. It will likely take a few (~3-5?) minutes to finish booting and connecting to the CIM servers.
Once connected, it should update the "Last Poll" timestamp in PEAK, under Site Manager>BACER>siteName.
If issues, refer to the In-Depth BACER Installation Guide
